Event Details
Join us at the Romeoville Branch Library on the second Tuesday evening of each month for a spirited book discussion and light refreshments including a choice of beer, wine or a non alcoholic beverage.
This month's book is "The Poisoner's Handbook" by Deborah Blum who tells the true story of how poison shook Jazz Age New York City with exciting prose and thrilling twists, just like your favorite mystery or thriller. She draws from intriguing and original research to track the early days of forensic science when a pair began to forge a new path with chemical detective work. With their hard work and persistence, they created modern forensics and made it possible to trace poisons using methods that evolved into what scientists use today.
This book will be available one month prior to the discussion and can be picked up at the Romeoville Branch Library's Adult Services Desk and will be due back one week after the book club date.
