Award-winning author, Road Scholar with the Illinois Humanities Council, speaker and food historian Cynthia Clampitt will discuss the popularity of rum through the ages, how pirates became synonymous with rum, how it was one of the issues that led to the American Revolution and how this liquor has impacted many cultures and time periods worldwide.
