Program Description

Event Details

Sit back and enjoy a glass of wine, beer, or a non-alcoholic beverage, as well as light refreshments, while nationally-known food and beverage journalist, Josh Noel, discusses his new book: Malört: The Redemption of a Revered and Reviled Spirit.* Noel's book covers the intriguing story and history of this local phenomenon. The talk will be followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

Doors open at 6:45pm.

*Unfortunately, we cannot provide samples of Malört, but if you are curious, we encourage you to visit one of our fine, local drinking establishments after the program.

"Josh Noel is one of the nation’s most recognizable food and beverage journalists, and had a decades-long tenure at the Chicago Tribune in addition to contributions to This American Life, the New York Times, and other publications. He has now turned to book form for his journalistic narratives, first with his debut, Barrel-Aged Stout and Selling Out, and most recently, with Malört: The Redemption of a Revered and Reviled Spirit."
