Program Description

Event Details

This year marks 130 years since Romeoville incorporated as a Village in 1895. Take a look back at what Romeoville was like in the early years and how it came to be founded in the first place. Learn about the industries that sustained the small canal town and how a population boom of 1,600% in just four years shaped Romeoville into the town we know today.

Mark Serratore will be your guide as he shares information that has been compiled from the Romeoville Historical Society, Village archives, and discoveries of his own. Mark has worked for the Village of Romeoville for 8 years, is a Lewis University graduate, and is an award winning public speaker.

This library program has been made possible through a partnership between the White Oak Library District and the Village of Romeoville.
