Visiting Walt Disney World today, for many families, means booking a stay at one of the many on-property Disney Resorts in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The hotels come in many styles, themes, and prices, and come with a lot of perks that follow guests to the parks. Today there are over 30 resorts on Walt Disney World property, 22 of which are owned and operated by Disney itself. The resorts are features in and of themselves, with restaurants, activities, and pools. And if the pool at the resort isn't enough, guests also have two Disney waterparks they can choose to visit.
We'll take an unofficial tour of the hotels and waterparks of Walt Disney World, and share some of their history that led to the Walt Disney World experiences so many people look forward to today.
